A mailbox

Here is the newest craft posting. My daughter needed to to create a mailbox for her valentine cards (crazy 4 challenges) to be delived to at school for her valentine party ( pennys challenges). I have entered many challenges with this projects. Here is an overview of what we have done.

We used a shoebox and cut the cover in half. hotglued paperbags to cover it the outside and made only half of the cover openable. cut heart shapes (die cut) and a flag out of k & co paper (color throwdown) and attached the flag with a brad ( practacle scrappers) to make it moveable. As you can see the handle is made of hemp with beads that spell A-N-G-E-L. The key is a toy my daughter had that I added a braided keychain with beads (that I had thought about tossing at one point.) It is removeable from the mailbox. I cut a slit in the box to slide it in and out. The bottom half of the box has ribbon around it with flower stickers, Angels name, and hearts glued on. The top of the mail box has hearts Angel cut out of paper and stickers.. I think it came out better then how I envisioned it lol.

Mom's Birthday

I'm late with this card. My mom's birthday is January 1st. We thought she was going to make it out to visit, but that isn't going to happen so I decided to send a card. Better late then never. Today I took a trip to Joanns and bought all kinds of scrap booking goodies! (I got a gift card from my neighbor for christmas!) Paper is K&Company. 360 12x12 pages for $19.99! Has some really cute designs too! It's hard to see but the clear thing in the corner says sweet. I'm really not sure what it is exactly, but it's a CTMH product. The cupcake is one of Penny's Creations digital stamps. This one really is my favorite! I have entered a few challenges with this card. Winter Wonderland, Secret Crafter, Scrap and Stamp, Crazy 4 challenges, CPS.

army accordian album

This album came out pretty cool I think! I made this to send to Rodney's mother for Christmas. Just thought I'd surprise her and send it. It has photos for the last year. From dec 2008 to Dec 2009. There are photos and captions on both sides of the album. I have entered this in the following challenges: Penny's Challenges, Creative Inspirations CB, Strap and Stamp, and Practical Scrappers. (it's not christmasy, but is a christmas gift-hope it counts...)

Accordian photo albums

These two albums are exactly the same, just different color ribbon. I made these for some of my neighbors. The theme I was going with these are to look like "packages" Hence the brown paper bag, and the star shaped stamp paper. They are military spouses I am giving them to. I used cereal boxes, paperbags, ribbon, and colored cardstock. Very simple project. I actually made 3 tonight, but I'm saving the last for another post, as I'm going to add photos to it for my husbands mother. I entered these in the following challenges: Penny Challenges, Creative Inspirations challenge blog, Stamp, scrap, & Doodle Saturdays!

This card I used die cuts, stamps, ribbon, and liquid glass. I think it's cute, but something seems off. Maybe I should have used different color ribbon? Unsure what it is. This has been entered in Crazy 4 challenges, Practical Scrappers, Secret Crafter, and Simon Says.

This card I used CTMH stamps, ink, and liquid glass. I think this is the first card that I didn't "glue" something on. At first I thought it to be kind of "naked" but I don't think its so bad now. Entering this card in Tuesday Taggers. It's not a decorated christmas tree, but a tree in christmas weather. Hope that counts!

This weekend I expanded my crafting past paper. I took a 3 hour class a few weeks ago to learn to make jewelry. So I bought some stuff from wal-mart this week and went to work. Both of these happen to be gifts for my neighbors. I'm entering this in the challenge over at Creative Inspirations challenge blog. Sorry the picture didn't turn out so well. Very cool in person tho!

This child of mine, sure brings me home alot of homework from Pre-k! So this time it's about a thanksgiving project. They wanted us to make messages (they had a list of pictures and meanings they sent home) on the back of paperbags to represent animal skins. I took it a step beyond and used sticks and acorns. We didn't have feathers so we drew them. I am entering this project in for Secret Crafters. The challenge is 4 seasons. You don't have to do all of them if you don't want.

I was choosen as the USA winner for a blog candy giveaway at the Thepaperaffair.blogspot.com/. I won some stamped images and a Martha Stewart edge punch. I'm excited because 1. I haven't been able to get on for a few weeks now that I've been training for sprint. Weekends seem to be the time I can get any craft goodies done. I went on a retreat this past weekend. I did make some craft goodies, but they don't fit in any available challenges so I haven't posted them yet. and 2. I'm excited because I don't own any Martha stewart punches! So this ROCKS! I'm sending Many Thanks!

I was really hoping to get some card in this weekend, but it just didn't happen. This is the only card I have got done. I actually made it at a craft thing I went to Last Thursday and touched it up at home with glitter. Theres a bit of glitter on the ribbon that I didn't want to wipe off yet, because the glue on the trees were still wet. I'll clean it up later, when it's safe! My new job really doesn't leave me for as much time to craft anymore... Hopefully next weekend I'll produce something to show! Anyways this is a Pennys Challenge. She wants to see a winter theme with glitter or ribbon.

Anouther Homework Project

This project we had to go for a walk collecting leaves. We had to press them for a few days, then glue them on to paper making the shape of an animal. Angel really wanted to make an elephant, but we didn't the right leaves to do that. So Butterfly it is! Honestly she really wasn't into this project as much as the last. At least the last project she got to cut up pictures and use a gluestick on them. So this is what she will be turning in for her homework tomorrow. I was able to find two challenges this would fit in. Stamp, Scrap, and doodle Saturdays wants to see anything but a card. Tuesday Taggers wants to see Bursts of Color!

Today I was able to squeeze in another x-mas card to add to the list of people I would like to send cards to. I don't know how I feel about this card. I used a mix of stamps and stickers to create it card. It's just not what I imagined. I had something completely different in mind, but when I started working in one of the challenges I had to change my idea. So this is what I ended up with. So without further ado my challenges I used were Practical Scrappers they want you to use two patterned pieces of paper. For this challenge I did not have the right patterned paper so I made my own with a small x-mas stamp set that I received for purchasing ctmh products at a gathering I held. I can't remember the name of it tho. CPS gave me the sketch. I used x-mas string light stickers that are suppose to represent the wavy lines in the background. Scrap and Stamp and Winter Wonderland both had open themes this week.

Hello Everone! I've found now that I started my new work from home job 3pm till 12am, that I just have no time to do any scrapping during the week anymore! GASP! Goodthing they make weekends lol! So this afternoon I was scrolling through looking for challenges and I found 8! Omg I couldn't beleive it! Four of them are all Halloween themed which directed me to create this page for my ARMY book that I shared last post. The previous weekend Angel and I went to my husbands brigades Fall festival. Angel dressed as Tinkerbell. We had hotdogs and candy, we had photos taken of us, and pumpkin painting. It was a BYOP bring your own pumpkin. The middle pumpkin in the bottom right corner is the pumpkin my daughter painted. After it dried we put these plastic face pieces on it to make a cat! I thought it was cool that all three pumpkins happen to have a face! The pictures above were taken by the lady dressed as Snow White! I thought Snow White and Tinkerbell should be in a photo together so I took it with her camera! So for Challenges.... Creative Inspiration challenge wants to see some numbers, PC, Polka, Creative Inspirations, and Tuesday Tagger are all Halloween Themed. C4C is Geometric, Color Throw Down wants to see the colors Pomegrante, celery, and teal. Finally Unscripted gave me the sketch! Whew! I almost feel guilty using one page for all 8, but at the same time I'm like YAY THIS ROCKS!

MAINETROOPGREETERS.COM is a site that I got a hint on facebook to check out. Mainetroopgreeters are people that dedicate their time to greet out troops coming and going from the Bangor Maine Airport. One of the things they do for the families of soldiers is photograph and post pictures of the troops online. I was really excited because I found 3 photos my husband was in! (He didn't even know he was photographed!) They have been doing this since 2004. So if anyone has had a solider deploy and knows the exact deployment date they should check out this site. You never know there could be photos of that special someone online! How cool is that?

Challenges I am entering this in are: Unscripted Sketches

#27 sketch challenge. I added the pictures on the side, but the rest of the sketch goes along. Creative Inspirations is about family! Scrap and Stamp wants to know what we are thankful for. I am thankful that their are people willing to support and greet troops no matter the weather condition or time of day or night! I am thankful these people have a site to post photos for the family and friends to view! People like that make all the differences!

This here is something I just wanted to share. Since this is my first deployment, I'm going to scrap what I can about mine and my husbands experiences. I bought this scrapbook from K&COMPANY. It was really expensive and now I'm kicking myself in the rear for doing so because it's now added to the rest of the items I still haven't paid off on my charge card! *sigh* but as I read somewhere on one of Penny's sites: I scrapbook so therefor I'm broke! But I thought it was really cool looking so I wanted to share!

Penny's Pay it Foreward Gift

I decided to try something different for this project. I'll be honest I couldn't for the life of me think of what I could make Penny since she has made just about most things you could make papercraft wise lol... So I picked up some onsale coasters. Two different sets. I mix matched them. I used these stars that I found in my stash that are made to rub on hard surfaces. After doing so I put one coat of Modge Podge and three coats of Acrylic Sealer. I didn't test them out so I pray it works lol...

I think these coasters are really cool because they have a wooden base to hold them upright when not in use.

It's hard to see in this photo but it says Thanks for being my friend on the inside cover. This box I made was a pizza box, but I had to make some adjustments to make it deeper. Somehow it came out perfect sized! The cover and sides are stamped with the Stamping Up set I won few months ago.

Now for Challenges! I used Polka Doodles sketch. Scrap and Stamp wants to know what your thankful for? Our Creative Corner has a color challenge. The cute little mouse you see on the box is a digi challenge over at Tuesday Taggers

This journal was requested by one of my neighbors. Since she helped me out in a time of need I jumped on that request. I asked her to give me something to start as a base and she said Butterflys. She also stated NO PINK! So this is what I came up with. I made so many oppses with this damn thing! I had to run to Pennys house this afternoon for a scrappers emergency lol... I punched holes on the wrong side of the front. As you can see I needed something to "fill the blanks"! The rest is pretty much the same as the last. For challenges I used Scrap and Stamps Summery challenge with at least one stamp. I stamped her name on the inside with CTMH alphabet stamp set. I used Stamp somethings bling challenge. There are shiny butterfly jewels on the front. Next would be Simon says stamps sketch. similar to another I was going to use but chose this one instead. At last Secret Crafters challenge was to dig deep! Believe it or not the butterfly stickers and the daisys I've had eight years!
P.S. I gave it to her after I posted this and she LOVED it! She was so excited she took pictures on her phone and sent them to her mom and posted them online lol! YAYYYYY!

gift for my mother

The last journal I made was intended for my mom, but I changed my mind and made this one for her instead. I used a cardboard box and a paper bag to cover it. I have lots of paper- but not the colors I need or not enough to pages to complete a project. Besides I really like the bag look! Afain I used the dogs rabies tag rings to hold it together. This time I tied ribbon on the rings. I had a couple leftover embellishments from a different project. The rake and bag of leaves. I added them last minute. They weren't in my original intentions. I used liguid glass on the heart in the middle of the tree and the words love you on the leaf in the bottom left corner.

This project is compatable with a few challenges.

So today I walk into the PX and I see a stand near the door with products that if you purchase them they will donate money for breast cancer. And then I see it... A PINK SHARPIE! I couldn't resist! Then I decided I would make a breast cancer card to add to the collection I'm mailing to Dustin Pike. So then I get home and check the mail and there is a package from Barb! Such a sweet lady! I was so excited to see the things she sent me! I used the black pearls and the hard to see clear ribbon from the sample pack of things she sent me! How exciting Barb THANK YOU THANK YOU! I do not know where I got the digital image from... I got it from a list of free offered digital stamps during a recent bloghop and didn't think to write the site down to give them credit for it! So Sorry! The only challenge I used was MOJO MONDAYS sketch. The pink ribbon on the front of the card and the writing on the inside was done with my new pink sharpie! I used liquid glass on the ribbon to give it that extra shine! You cannot see it but the edges are distressed with Martha Stewarts pink ink. I like it! This is my first time making something breat cancer related!

This is another card I made to mail along with a few other cards for Dustin Pikes cause. It bugs me a little that when I photograph my cards. They just do not look the same. Because in person this card rocks! I wanted to share That the stamps I used are a set of Stampin Up stamps that I won during a bloghop a while back from My Simple life on paper. I used the sketch from Midnight Madness. That was all I had in mind when I created this card. Often I browse Pennys candy bar links (Hers are neatly coordinated by days of the week!) I found two more challenges This card fits with. Tuesday Taggers challenge is Shades of Autumn. The second would be Scrap and Stamp Saturday which is calling for using a quote. The quote that is hard to read in this picture came from my new CTMH treasures set. It says ...the winds of change bring treasures unknown...embrace change... I also found one more challenge in my postings! Dare to be Sassy is having a Fall inspiration challenge! As you can see I destressed the edges and mixed green and brown. The maple leaf embellishment happens to be in my stash I have that I have no idea who made it- but it fit Perfect!

Cards for Dustins cause

Dustin Pike is asking crafters to donate 5 or 6 cards for him to turn in to a hospital he supports to sell to raise money. Click here if your interested in details. Blog candy is being offered as well. So this is one of the cards I thought I'd send. It's my first attempt at making a round card. Which happens to be a challenge @ CCEE Stampers. To make it more durable I used cardboard then cover it with designer paper. I used a sketch from Carols sketch fun. I modified it alittle, but it's still close. And last but not least I got my inspiration from Penny's Challenges. The inspiration that came to me said Nature! The inside of the card simply says Thank You!

This card was made for Pennys Challenges. It was a sketch. A REALLY REALLY EASY ONE! Lol... and you'd never believe I had scrappers block for at least an hour before I started! I wanted to do something christmas or fall related, but ended up with neither! I am so so so in love with this CTMH tree stamp! Oh the things I can do with it! Unsure if you can tell I did alittle edge destressing too.

This card fits into a couple challenges. Winter Wonderland -Sleigh bells ring. Creative Inspirations -letters/numbers. Also Creative Inspirations Challenge -Christmas in October

It may be hard to tell in this photo, but in person it's a nice card! The background red paper has snowflakes stamped in white. The four corners have a tiny diamond in the middle and liquid glass on them. The snowflake with the diamond on the bell is an embellishment that was in my stash so I have no Idea who made it, but it's very pretty! As you can tell I distressed the edges of the card with cranberry. The letters SN&W are letters I traced and cut out of snowflake paper.

Stationary!

I'm so excited! Finally I've made one of these with a pocket that you can replace the pad of paper inside! Instead of calling it a journal I can call it stationary! YAAAYYY! LOL I used the card borad from a capri sun box. VERY VERY thick! It makes it very sturdy tho. The rings that are holding it together are from the rabies tags you would recieve from your local vetrinary office. That was a real pain attaching them! But I have confidence they won't be coming off easy either! This project I used the sketch from Midnight Madness. The Halloween theme is a challenge from Stamp Scrap and Doodle. That is actually the site where I have won my 2nd blog candy! Yayyyy!

Card For Paige!

This card is made for a 13 yr old girl from NH (The state I grew up in!). I do not know Paige but I learned through blogger that she was recently in a boating accident. They are asking for cards to be mailed to her! If interested in updates on her click here.

Christmas Card!

My order of CTMH came in Yesterday! YAYYY! I recieved four stamp sets! And guess what? I used something from each one on it! Petite perks, Snow friends, Grown with love, and Treasures. Infact I used every thing but the blending pen. I didn't realize you needed waterbased markers and pencils to use it with. So by some miracle I found half of a colorless blending pencil in with my colored pencils that I had no idea I even owned! I also used some liquid glass on the snowman, bird, and some of the snow. So what challenges have inspired me? Tuesday taggers "Trees". (I'm just inlove with the tree stamp I now own! I can think of tons of things I can do with it, and it would look different everytime!) Unscripted Sketches would be the sketch I used.

2nd Gift Box

This is the second gift box I have made for my other teenage cousin. Penny had asked me if it was the Pizza box and yes I used a pizza box tutorial I found on splitcoasters. I already submitted a project to Winter Wonderland this week. I checked their site out and it didn't say whether or not I could submit a second, so I thought I'd do it anyway! What the heck right? The sketch I used this week is from Stamp Scrap & Doodle. I used the die cuts challenge over at Practical Scrappers as well

Gift Box

Finally a challenge to make a gift box! I have been meaning to make two gift boxes to send to my young preteen cousins, but have been stalling! So Maybe tomorrow I'll get around to making the second? I don't know maybe lol. The challenge was at Winter Wonderland.

The second challenge I used was the sketch from Get Sketchy.

They have a bonus challenge as well "Destressing Edges"! Penny if you haven't entered this one you better! Your great at destressing edges LOL! So I like how it came out. Now that I see how the box looks with the paper hole punches on the sides I wish I used my mushroom stamps for the top instead of the snowman! I been wanting to use them and haven't! Maybe I will for the second box I need to make. Anyways I was trying to make the side of the box match the snowmans hat. Ok enough babbling for now! Enjoy!

This is a card I made to mail to my husband in Afghanistan. I got the inspiration to make this type of card from Dawn! Thanks Dawn I would have never thught to make a card that would open this way! One challenge I used was Penny's Challenges. The challenge was BIRDS! My husband's favorite bird is a crow. The inside of the card I also wan't to point out is a enlarged image of a crow I was given to from Barb over at got pms?. The second challenge I used was Unscripted Sketches. That one is a sketch challenge. I'm really happy with this card. If I had the CTMH blending pen I ordered already I would say it came out perfect. I used one at my recent scrap party I hosted and now I'm dieing to own one! LOL... Enjoy!

Deployment Day

Well I can only enter this in two challenges now. The sketch I used was for Practical Scrappers, but I missed the deadline. Dang it! That's twice I've done that! But what I have left is the challenge "It's Raining men" @ Die Cut Dreams and Scallops @ Pennys Challenges

I tried to Match my paper the best I could to Rodney's uniform colors. I glued a patch of his that he couldn't use, due to it being offcentered, on my page. I included a newpaper article explaining alittle about his job he'll be doing. I also used my CTMH Hero's pride stamp.

I really like this stamp I used. It was something I picked up in the clearance isle in Wal-mart. I don't konw the maker tho. I used Martha Stewart ink with it. I destressed the edges of white with CTMH desert sand ink. The hole punches are something I purchased from Wal-mart many years ago as well. This was completed for two challenges. OCC which is a color combo this week and Tuesday Taggers whith the challenges of using punches.

I completed two challenges with this card. This would be my fourth card submitted to Barbs PMSSC01. The colors selected for Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays - Challenge. It may be hard to see in this photo, but I inked the edges of the blue with orange. I learned how to do that today from Penny. She consulted a scrapbook party for me today yayy! I always wondered how she did that. I made this card with the intentions of sending it to my husband in Afghanistan. I didn't want to put any writting on the front like Happy Holiday or Happy Halloween, because over there it's just a normal work day like any other day. He works seven days a week so I decided I'd just leave it blank and handwrite on the inside "Thinking of you this Holiday" or something close to that. I try to stay positive and watch things I say. I try to refrain from saying I miss you or I wish you were here. Instead I try to say I look foreward to the next time I hear from you or something like that. I picked up that tip from a deployed spouse support group/dinner I went to. By the way the blue and orange are much brighter in person then in this picture!

Wall Hanging

Penny has this really cute wall hanging on her door and I thought I would try to make one myself! I used some cheap plasticish coasters, cardstock, ribbon, and embellishments.

I also used 3 challenges to complete this task!

This would be a MIDNIGHT MADNESS sketch. I have been a follower for many weeks, but this would be my first attempt at playing along! The dome sticker says Patience is a virtue. At first I thought the sketch looked hard, but I like what I came up with!

This sketch came from MOJO MONDAY.
The dome sticker in the middle says Hope. I really like the colors I used for this one.

This last sketch came from ICSKETCHES. I am a new follower and this is my first sketch attempt with them! The dome sticker says Strength. I liked using the dome stickers. They seemed to give the wall hanging "weight".

Homework?!

My daughter got her first homework project, or I should say our homework project. I was to help her create a collage of things important to her. This including photos, of family, pets, places, baby pictures, etc. So I used Penny's sketch to begin with on the front side of her homework. I put together the design of everything, but we did equal amounts of work I think. Angelena cut most of the pictures and put the glue on them. She picked out things she wanted on it, painted the humming bird. The backside is a "lollypop" made out of photos. She chose that. (if it were me choosing I'd have gone with a cat lol!) Oh I guess I should tell you all my daughter is 4 and she's in pre-k. The project is going in a book at school the children and share and talk to each other about I guess from my understanding. Enjoy!

Halloween Bookmark

I was able to squeeze four challenges in with this one! I used the callenge sketch from C4C1. I'll be honest I had a very hard time with that sketch. I wanted to make a card, but.... I used premade envelopes mostly 4 1/2 by 5 and I couldn't think of a way to make the card with the circle at the top fit in the envelope, and not be well whatever I decided I would make a bookmark instead! The colors Orange and Chocolate came from this weeks challenge over at Die Cut Dream. This is my first time playing along with them! I kinda like the color challenges. I used the shape punch challenge with Practical Scrappers. I used the bookmark challenge over at Tuesday Taggers The front I used a shape punch on the corners of the orange. The backside is where I used my small square punch. I kinda had my mom in mind while making this card (giving it as a x-mas gift) But I don't know if I should just keep it. I mean do people give halloween things to people on christmas? I dunno.

The picture on the back side is of Angel last year with her piggy pumpkin! It seemed to tie in well with the color challenge since the pumpkin is orange and her t-shirt is brown!

I also thought I'd share two of my three spotlight stealers! While I was take pictures my kitty's were trying to get their fame as well! The black one is Mew. The little tabby is Oz!

This would be another of my earth friendly projects I've created LOL! What I mean by that is just a few hours ago this was a Tinkerbell fruitsnack box! I made this gift with my friend Kara in mind. Perhaps I'll mail it to her for Christmas. I have known her since I was 9. I met her at a diabetic camp "Camp Carefree." Anyways I used two challenges for this. The sketch came from CCEE Stampers. This would be my first time playing along with CCEEC! It seemed to be a really easy sketch for me! The second challenge I played along with week is Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog. I believe this would also be my first time playing along with this site as well! This was great because my friend loves the color purple and she's going to love this I know it! I've been having issues making these projects with various glues. Martha Stewarts glue makes the card board bend. CTMH just doesn't hold well. So I used a basic gluestick you can pick up in the school supply of Wal-mart, and Hotglue. It seems to be holding well. We'll see LOL.

Thanks to good ole myspace I found out it's my neighbors birthday this week. So I got to work making her a card! This picture does not give this card justice-because to see it in person it's FRIKEN AWESOME! The cupcake is a free gift I recieved from Penny's Challenges just for participating in a challenge! I actually had fun with this card! I think it came out GREAT! I used a Sugar Nellie Stamp image that Barb from gotpms? mailed me. What a wonderful stamp set! It's adorable I love it! Practical scrappers/ Unscripted Sketches

I am entering this card in two challenges. Practical Scrappers whose challenge is using Stamps and Unscripted Sketches. First a little bit about this silly looking card... My husband deployed Yesterday to Afghanistan. His birthday is September 29th. Since he is in another country I will need to send it prior. Anywho We were watching Family Guy (I hate the show, but my husband thinks it's hilarious!) They had an episode where Peter sang Bird is the word, the whole show! Good lord it was annoying. It took me two days to put this card together and over and over in my head I could hear it Bird Bird Bird, Bird is the word.... AAGGGHHH! (The things I do for love lol) My inspiration for this card was that show. When he is away I like to make him cards that have subliminal messages in them. Things from our past I guess you could say. The inside of the card says " Happy BIRDday Tweatheart". This is the first time I have used my Close to my heart Owl stamps. I've had them a couple months now. I think it came out ok. Not one of my best, but I put alot of thought into making it.

Well today I had to make a sympathy card, and yes it was for a spouse, but the tragedy wasn't her husband. Their puppy got parvo and they took it to the animal hospital I happen to work at. It was too late to save the little guy. The owners didn't want to be present. I wanted to let them know that I stayed with their dog till the end, so I made a card to let them know. I also bought flowers and cookies, because in my world, your pets are like children and it's just as upsetting to lose a pet.

This is the first time I've made a card for more then one challenge. I guess you could consider it three challenges since it's made for my own Comfort a military spouse challenge as well! The first is a sketch from Polka Doodles http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/2009/08/get-sugar-rush.html The second is Flourishes at Pennys Challenges http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/2009/08/pennys-challenge-week-4.html I used Creative Memories Paper. For the circles I dug out a paper cutter I forgot I even had. It's a Lighthouse Memories shape cutter. At the bottom it says OUR SYMPATHY. I wrote the letters on hole punched paper then put clear page pebbles over them. The page pebbles are MakingMemories. The Daisy's a good ole Martha Stewart!

Ok well I decided yesterday I was going to make my wedding page. One of my earlier posts I posted a page for my husband, daughter, and guests to sign. I had scrappers block and didn't know what to do. I started by stamping daisys all over the blue background. Those would be the tickled pink CTMH set that I'm so very fond of. (I owe a huge thanks to Penny for giving them to me! It's my favorite set!) I started to use a sketch from Pennys challenges http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.com/

But then I decided to chop it up and weave the paper together in the middle of the page! Then I just completely strayed away from the sketch! So in this page I have a mini copy of my marriage certificate, a cut out photo of myself, the cheap $5 earrings I bought from Walmart that I wore twice! They looked like they were starting to tarnish or something so I had no problem glueing them to my page to only be looked out from now on! I also have some star stickers around the title of the page: The Bride Mrs. Kittelson. It probley isn't noticeable, but scattered all over the page of small fake diamonds. My dress had fake diamonds on it, so I thought it would be appropriate to use them. I also have a protectant page over the page that has a quote on it: In dreams and in Love there are no impossablities. I started it last night and fished it this afternoon.

sketch challenge sympathy card

I found a sketch over at 2sketchs4you.com that seemed easy. I knew I had a pair of cloud scissors that cut the design in the scketch and I knew they were something I've had for 8 years and never even used before! So why not? I honestly think it looked better before I cut it with the scissors, but I wanted to play along with the sketch. So I went with the cmth dogtags again, with remember this hero stamped inside, to go along with my comfort a military spouse challenge (if your interested in the rules it's still open go check out my posting for it.)

For the inside I deceided I wanted to use letter stencil. I used a quote from one of my justrite stamps. I switched out the word beautiful with soldier, because it seemed more appropriate. Over I'm happy with it. Except the cloud scissor cut. I don't feel they line up right ever when I use them, which is why I normally don't. I don't know, maybe I just need more practice!

Ok it's not often I make two cards in one night. I've only done that once before only because I was trying to make a fathers day and a birthday card for my dad before I went to New Hampshire to visit! So the card I made tonight is my Third Comfort a Military Spouse card. I found these clear embelishments that I thought would look nice in the center of the tickeled pink stamp set. Now that I see it on the card I think I may have figured out what I'd like to do for my own personal wedding scrapbook page! I used a justrite stamp verse in the middle of the card. I thought it was great that way, but I had to add the hemp bows because I made an opps because I got some ink on the stamp that showed up where it shouldn't have. I hate it when that happens! Actually it happens more then I like to admit! So the bows are to make a distraction from the unwanted ink. This time I left the inside of the card blank. First off let me tell you I got another care package in the mail today YAYYYY! For once I'm excited to check the mail! So after I got my care package I decide I need to create another card. I recalled having some cross stickers in my completely unorganized mess upstairs. Didn't take me long to find them. Then I realized I had some ribbon with crosses on it as well that I got from Penny when she did my scrapping party. (I wondered what I could possably do with it at the time, little did I know what the plans for it were to be! ) And the rest just came together afterwards. I thought about putting something on the front for words, but I think it's nice without any. Now for the inside I used the close to my heart classmate alphabet letters and the dog tags from heros pride. My husband said none of the cards I had gotten said anything about being a solidier. I informed him most cards are left blank so you can write whatever you want inside. But this card was made to make him happy lol... Inside the dog tags it says Remember this Hero. Well Mr. Critic my husband says the words Soldier and Hero should have been switched! *scoff* I thought about it a minute and realized I can't do that because the word soldier is too big for the tags. I'm really happy with the way it came out tho!

Friday when I came home from my job as a Kennel Assistant in a Vetrinary

clinic (I'm sure you can imagine the days, Bark Bark, Poop, Bark, Poop, Poop, and some more Bark! LOL) I had two packages waiting for me. One of them was my first avrial of sympathy cards YAYYYY! The second was the JustRite Stamp set that was donated to me to help me in this quest of making sympathy cards I chose to take on! So today I sat in my craft room .... OHH I didn't mention I had an actual room now did I? Yes I now have a craft room! I moved into a renovated home and have an extra bedroom which has become my Craft room. I no longer have to sit in the dinning room at the dinning room table! Nope now I sit in my designated craft room at the dinning room table! Ok way off track now. So I sat down with my stamps and paper and thousands of other misc junk and wondered where to start? Well since I still had Barbs Sketch fresh in my mind from PMS http://gotpms.blogspot.com/ So I decided my first sympathy card I would use that sketch. I had these neat square buttons I thought I'd use. I kinda found my paper and thread colors from there. The inside of the card is a stamp set... It's upstairs sorry I can't remember the name, but it's a Close to my Heart stamp set that I borrowed from Penny over at http://scrappinpenny.blogspot.com/ She's a personal friend of mine so she was very nice to lend it to me! Thanks Penny! Anyways the inside has the flowers on the left side on a cut peice of paper to cover the stitching on the front of the card.
Well that's all I got done today! Tomorrows a new day though! I enevy some of you crafters that can make several cards in one day! This is my first blog sketch challenge that I've actually participated in! I've deffinitly got christmas on the brain. I've got some family members I can deffinitly send them to! So when I saw this sketch I knew right away I wanted to use the snowflake background, the tree, and the snowflakes. I used the ribbon, but... As soon as I finished the dang card, the absolute perfect border sticker with snowflakes and stars was staring at me... Too late to switch since I secure all my ribbons with hot glue. I found the other glues within a short time they unglue themselves and I'd hate to give someone something that is going to unglue itself...So I guess I'll have to make another card and enter that too. This is a Thank you card that I made to send to my Aunt about a week and a half ago. She sent me a "very late" wedding gift (8 months late lol), But hey lates better then never sometimes lol! I kinda really like how it came out. Kinda hard to see in this picture but I chose daisys, as they are my favorite flower and I had some at my wedding. Philly Cheese steaks anyone?

This time I decided to transform this box into a journal. Heres afew pictures during the process!
This picture I'm working on covering the front. As you can see I glued a brown background, glued ribbon, and put patterned paper over it. To hold the pad in place, I didn't make a pocket. I used a piece of cardboard covered paper that I used glue, and thread to hold in place for the pad of paper to stay in place.
The cover I stamped Martha Stewart hearts on a cutout of a teapot then I sewed thread around the edges of the teapot. To glue it on the cover I needed to use hotglue also, since the regular glue pen wouldn't hold the thread.
For the inside teacups I used the same stamp, then I sewed the teacups and a pocket onto the inside cardstock
I needed to use rubber bands over night to help it keep it's form.

I don't know, but I had these neat flower pots and thought I could use the CTMH Tickeled Pink set ...

So today at work they were getting rid of this shelf thingy and I overheard the office manager say if anyone wanted it they could take it. So I piped right up and said I would take it, because free is a great oppertunity and I couldn't pass this one up! All I could think of was my poor dining room table that you may have seen a picture of in my first post! The shelfs are basket like and you can reach whatever is inside from any side! Even cooler, it's on wheels!

Well it may not seem like much, but to me it's exciting! I love love love free stuff, especially furnature lol! As you can see by this photo it's full. It does clean up my table top alittle ( Umm well until I started on an unfinished project tonight) I hope in a few weeks when we move into our new renovated house I will be able to have a designated place to scrap....Although if I don't get a desk or table to use I may just be back where I started lol.

Here's my newest creation. I made a little journal. Or it could be used as a address book or reciepe book. It wouldn't work well for stationary as the paper is yellow and non-replaceable, due to the notepad being glued to the inside.

Ok so I started out with a Little Debbies snack cake box, and covered the out side with patterned paper. I used all Close to my Heart stamps. Three sets. I used a lady from the "be yourself" set. I stamped it three times then enlarged them with a copier. I originally meant to stamp the dress pink. but there is a hint of purple from a prior stamping. I found this to be a "happy accident" so I left it as it was. I used scissors and cut and paste the clothing to make a more colorful version. I used the stamp "i am... so happy from the summer set. I also made an oops with the purple, so I double stamped the words in cranberry and I think it came out PERFECT! I am so happy how it came out!

For the inside I used a solid paper to cover the inside. Originally I wanted two pockets so the pad of paper could be replaceable. I started the project before I bought the pads of paper and found out it couldn't be done that way. So I had to glue it to the inside. I used ribbon to make a holder for the pen. For the pocket I had these "pop-up" page accesories that I had kicking around, so I cut one in half, covered it in patterned paper and glued three sides of it to the inside. As you can see on the pocket is the orignial lady that I enlarged for the cover. I double stamped the words "just because" from the Whooo loves you set.

Being a military spouse I have meet some interesting people. I have some great neighbors. One of them Tina will be transferred to another base in October. I have been getting together with the other Wives and am building her a crafty goodbye card. This card is not 100% done, as I still need to get with 4 other neighbors to write meessages on the pockets. It's taken me a month so far to catch up with the neighbors I have already, so it may be awhile till I get with the others. I'll edit and post a finalized photo when it's complete!
This is the cover. "FROM THE WIVES ON CASTLE DRIVE" I figured out the cover last night and glued it today. While Pawwing through a box of assortments I came across cutouts that resembled clipboards. I glued two mini pages of lined paper at the top only so you can actually lift the paper. Trying to give it a realistic look. I have hemp wrapped around the card to keep it closed. The actual card I used a cereal box.

This is the inside of the card. Tina's favorite color is green so I wanted to use lots of green, but wanted to even it out by using the same pattens in pink. I used Mays CTMH stamp of the month "Be Yourself" I chose four different ladies because all of the wives are very different. Differen't likes, personalities, nationalites, etc... But I chose to stamp them all in the same color to represent being military families. That's most likely not something obvious that other people would see, but I just thought I'd explain why I did what I did LOL!

Here is a photo of the bookmarks that go into the pockets. Tina reads lots of books that's why I chose to make bookmarks. Four of the wives have made the bookmarks and four of the wives will write on tags that I will stick on the pockets. The wives chosen for the bookmarks are the four friends she posted on her myspace page and wrote alittle something about each! So she made that part easy for me lol! One side of the bookmarks have a picture of the wife and her solider. The other side has a background paper and a little something written on it. The tops of the bookmarks are braided and have beads in them that the wives picked out.

story cube

Well today I made a Close to my heart photo cube. I was excited when I made it, but after posting it on the CTMH web page and viewing other cubes I don't feel so good about it anymore. But anyways I'm going to post it and give you the little pieces of story that make it a story cube. I apologize for the blurry photos. I pressed some buttons on my camera I shouldn't have and the photos came out a tad blurry.

I'll start off by telling you that I made the cube for my mother as a christmas gift. She may be coming to visit around Thanksgiving (She lives in Phoenix AZ) and I'd like to have her take it back home with her, as I fear the dangers of mailing it!

The third photo is of the top of the box. I used a piece of artwork my daughter made at a military daycare center.

The next side is a photo taken in New Hampshire of my daughter, with her papa Richie and a chicken! (First time she's been that close to a chicken!) Used a background paper that resembeled Straw like in the chicken nests. It may be hard to notice but I held all the corners together with Hemp for necklaces. Some I glued the paper over it, but this one I chose to poke it through the paper and doubleknot bows. The upper left corner, I chose to not cut the bow laces and knot beads in it. I chose alternating beads of Moose and Bears, because NH has tons of them! My mom and I lived most our lives in NH so I was trying to give it a homey feeling.

Next photo is taken on my wedding night. We got married in Phoenix, AZ 12-2-08 and were standing in front of Glendales park. All the trees were Lit up with lights and it was called Glendale glitters. All I added to this photo are some elegant looking moulding corners.

Next we have Grandma's PERFECT Lil Angel! My daughter is a definite girly girl. Straight up thinks she is a princess! She's 4 by the way. My mom absolutely loves her and will get a kick out of this one I know it! I used a flowery background. The words Grandma's Lil Angel were all togethter, but I decided to cut them as they didn't fit. At the last minute I inserted the perfect stamp from CTMH Be yourself set. I used Hemp on the corners as well, but this time I chose to have buttons in the corners instead of bows.

My husband is stationed in Fort Bragg, NC, where we currently reside. He will be deployed to Afghanistan next month. This photo was one his friend took of us in the lobby of a Pre-Deployment ball we atteneded on 6-18-09. I think it's one of the nicest pictures my husband and I have taken in a while now. I used a plain background. I stamped the words Honor, Pride, Duty, Sacrifice across the top. (Stamps are from Hero's Pride) I used small shiny glittery gold star stickers as I do not have a star stamp yet! I handwrote the event and date at the bottom.

The bottom of my story cube is suppose to have the made with love feel to it. Hence the heart background and the heart I traced and cutout in the middle. I used a stamp from the spring set, "All that we Love deeply becomes a part of us." Helen Keller. I gave it the homemade touch by sewing the heart to the middle paper. I have a hard time poking the needle through the backside so I pre poke my holes from the front first. I got the idea of sewing paper from the orignals book, which I may have mentioned in a previous post I think lol.

My Wedding... Ahhh Well it was nothing to oohh and aahh about that's for sure, as we were married in a courthouse by a justice of the peace and there were hardly any guests. BUT that's not the story my scrapbook has to tell now is it? Now since I didn't have any money and what I did have I spent on my dress I needed to get alittle creative. First I thought I would need a guest registry book or something, but as I mentioned above there was hardly any guests. So what I decided I would do was make a page for my scrapbook and have everyone sign that!

As you can see here I traced Cutouts of a star and cutouts of wedding rings to give it an Army Wedding look. Since my husband was/is new to the army and we were getting married so I could move on base with him, it seemed appropriate. I used acryalic paint and stencils for the lettering. This is something I came up with at the last minute, but I think it came out nice anyways.

This is one of my most favorite pages I've made! My friend Laurie told me when I got married that I needed something Old, something New, something Borrowed, and something Blue. Ok well I had everything except the Blue. I decided for my bouquet and the bouquet I gave my daughter and Lauries daughter would have Blue Daisys! Daisys are my favorite flower. I went to the local grocery store that sold flowers and combined the blue and the white daisys! After the marriage took place I pressed some of the flowers in a phonebook for a few weeks, till they were dry. Then I printed out an 8x10 photo of my daughter and cut her image out. I used a striped background that had the colors of the daisys. I made the brown paper behind the daisys simply by tearing the paper. I placed lament paper over the flowers to keep them in place.

For my husbands page I really wasn't sure where to go with this one. I was tryig to coordinate with the Guest page so the colors match, and the lettering is the same acrylic paint with stenciling. I had a piece of ribbon that looked like one similar to his uniform so I sort of weaved that in the stars to give it a side border kind of appearance. To also coordinate with my daughters page I used an 8x10 cutout as well! And this is all I have for my wedding photos so far. I haven't made a page for myself because I have I guess you could call it scrappers block. Whenever I decide to make on tho I'll be sure to post it!

Anthony and Angel Kittelson

I just finished this card tonight and was excited to post it. It's a birthday card I made for my step-daughter that's turning 6. Her birthday is next month, but I just made one for her brother whose birthday is this month, and once I get an idea in my head I have to go with it, or I might lose it! It was pretty simple. I traced several colors for the balloons. had some Disney Whinnie the Pooh punchouts and letters. For the inside I stamped Hooray for Birthdays with the Alphabet stamp set from Close to my Heart. I wasn't really sure how I wanted to approarch this card at first. I knew I wanted to use Pooh characters and I knew I wanted Balloons and this is what I came up with!

I decided I would start alittle blog spot to put pictures of crafts, cards, and scrapbook pages for people to check out. Most of my work is 100% my own idea's. I've always been on the crafty side. I work in a complete mess and have no organization to what I doing whatsoever!

As you can see by this photo I have things everywere on my dining room tabletop! I don't have a designated craft area, so the dining room table is my current victim! I find it much more interesting to start with a certain idea and just paw through everything looking for the pieces that fit with my idea! By the way what you don't see in this photo is the mess on my countertop, the things I shoved in my cupboards below, the 3 stacable boxes, two cardboard boxes, and a large plastic tote holding supplies!

My main supply of stuff is a trunk full of things that was given to me by my mothers aunt. I have paper, stickers, embellishments, hole punches, shape scissors, idea books, magazines, etc, etc... After 8 years I have so much stuff that she gave me I still to this day find new things I've never seen before! I have added some to my collection as well. My newest are some close to my heart stamp sets, ink pads, tools, and paper that I ordered through my consultant and friend Penny. Here are a few cards I made using patterns from the Origninals CMTH book I borrowed from Penny.

This is a fathers day card I made. I had to do alot of improvising to make this card! I pawed through my junk for two hours before I found something I could used for a sticker that looked close to a pattern for a belt buckle. I hotglued beads sideways for the belt holes. This is also the first time I used a needle and thread to sew paper. I felt really silly doing this, but now I do it all the time. It gives some of the things I make a personalized and homemade look that can't be found at Wal-Mart! The note inside the front pocket said It's not, whats in your pocket that matters, but what's in your heart!

This is my very first card I attempted the day after I recieved my order of CMTH products. I was attempting to make a Hello "just because" card. I used a pattern from the Orignials book again. I did not have one stamp to be used with the pattern so I improvised with some flower cutouts, texture tools, ink, and ribbon. The dragonflys however are a free stamp I was given at my cmth party.

Here is a card I made from a United States pattern. The web address is from www.twopeasinabucket.com. The date was from 2002, so I don't even know if it's still valid. Anyways Being a military spouse this pattern has come in pretty handy already!

Here is the same pattern I used from my Stepsons birthday card I made yesterday. I used army men cutouts from a disney toystory booklet.

These are my little wish trinket boxes I learned how to make at my ctmh gathering!

This box is made for my stepson Anthony as well. Its my favorite wish trinket box so far! I made the colors of the box match the hemp and beads of the necklace inside the box!

Also inside the boxes I have a piece of paper with the wish necklace/bracelet ancient legend!
